Serafina Is Replacing Scoozi in Boston's Back Bay

It looks like a gourmet pizzeria and sandwich bar in Boston's Back Bay is going to be replaced by an upscale Italian restaurant that has its roots in New York.

According to a source, Scoozi on Newbury Street is planning to transfer its beer and wine license to Serafina, which would operate in the same location. If the City of Boston approves of the transfer, this would be the second location of Serafina in Boston, with the other being on High Street in the Financial District--and if this is a closure and not a move, Scoozi would have only one remaining location in the area--on Commonwealth Avenue near Kenmore Square.

The City of Boston will look into the license transfer on April 26.

The address for Scoozi (and the new Serafina) in Boston's Back Bay is 237 Newbury Street, Boston, MA, 02116.

[February 11, 2019 update: According to a Facebook post from Christopher Haynes of CBH Communications, Serafina plans to open its Newbury Street location this week.]
