Fresh City in Newton Has Closed

A local group of quick-casual dining spots continues to shrink, with one of its suburban shops shutting down.

According to a post on the village14.com site, Fresh City in Newton is no longer in business, with a check on the restaurant's website confirming this (the listing has been taken off its locations page). A few other shops have closed over the past several years, including locations in Boston's Fenway, the Seaport District, and Woburn, with remaining outlets being found in Natick and Logan Airport as well as along the Mass. Pike and in Connecticut and New Jersey. (They also continue to offer catering in the Greater Boston area.)

Fresh City is known in part for its soups, salads, sandwiches, and stir-fry dishes.

The address for this now-closed dining spot in Newton was: Fresh City, 241 Needham Street, Newton, MA, 02464. The website for all locations can be found at http://www.freshcity.com/
