Golden Garden in Belmont Is Closing June 30

A suburban Chinese restaurant that has been featured on our sister site is shutting down, though another location of the place that recently opened remains in operation.

A check on the place today indicates that Golden Garden in Belmont is closing, with a "For Rent" sign in the window and another sign indicating that the Concord Avenue dining spot made the decision to close because its lease is expiring. The sign also mentions that the Malden location of Golden Garden, which opened on Highland Avenue earlier this year, remains open for business and that they are considering this to be a "move."

Golden Garden first opened in the summer of 2010, taking over the space where Osaka and several other restaurants had been. The dining spot has been featured on the Boston's Hidden Restaurants site as an under-the-radar place to go for northeastern Chinese cuisine, with the review being found here:

The address for Golden Garden in Belmont is 63 Concord Avenue, Belmont, MA, 02478.

[May 17 update: A source tells us that Golden Garden in Belmont will close on June 30, with the sign out front being a source of some confusion, mentioning the date June 30 but using the past tense, which made it appear that it may have already shut down.]

Thanks to a source for initially bringing this to our attention.
