Fuloon in Malden Has Closed

It looks like an industry and media favorite for Chinese food has shut down.

A poster on Twitter yesterday hinted that Fuloon in Malden may have closed, with a message sent stating that its phone was out of service and a sign out front saying that it has "temporarily" shuttered. A regular source of ours tells us that the closure of the Main Street dining spot has been "unofficially confirmed," though it is not yet known what might be taking over the space as of yet. As soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.

Fuloon, which first opened approximately 10 years ago, was known in part for its spicy Sichuan dishes, with Boston Magazine awarding it best Chinese restaurant in 2009 while Serious Eats once said it was "probably Boston's most well-known best-kept secret."

The address for Fuloon was 375 Main Street, Malden, MA, 02148.

This really isn't a surprise with the influx of new Asian restaurants in the area. Their website went missing years ago. I wonder how the Beverly location is doing, it's a beautiful place.
