Takusan Sushi in Brookline Has Been Replaced by Xiang Yu China Bistro

by Marc Hurwitz

A Pan-Asian restaurant in Brookline that was known in part for its all-you-can-eat sushi has very quietly shut down, and a Chinese eatery has moved into its space.

According to a source, Takusan Sushi on Beacon Street is no longer in operation, with a spot called Xiang Yu China Bistro now open in the space. A check on the website of the new restaurant indicates that its menu will be posted soon, but for now, it is not known exactly what Xiang Yu offers (we will post an update here as soon as we get to see a menu).

Takusan Sushi first opened in the summer of 2013, replacing Budda C, which had previously been called Buddachen; the space had also been home to a location of Jae's Cafe as well.

The address for the now-closed Takusan Sushi (and new Xiang Yu China Bistro) is 1223 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA, 02446. The website for Xiang Yu can be found at http://www.xychinabistro.com/
