Owners of Il Casale, Restaurant dante to Open New Restaurant in Belmont

The family behind three restaurants in Cambridge, Lexington, and Belmont will be opening a new dining spot, with this one also being in Belmont.

The Belmont Citizen-Herald is reporting that the DeMagistris brothers are planning to open a new restaurant in Belmont Center in the former Macy's space on Leonard Street that will also be home to a Foodie's market and Belmont Books bookstore/cafe. The article says that the 3,500-square-foot eatery, which would be across the street from the DeMagistris's Il Casale and does not yet have a name, is expected to open in the fall.

In addition to Il Casale and the upcoming dining spot in Belmont Center, Dante, Damian, and Filippo DeMagistris are also behind Il Casale in Lexington Center and Restaurant dante in East Cambridge.

The address for this new restaurant from the DeMagistris brothers will be 75 Leonard Street, Belmont, MA, 02478.

[July 12 update: A new article from the Belmont Citizen-Herald states that the new restaurant from the DeMagistris brothers will be a farm-to-table spot focusing on reasonably-priced American fare, and that the place is currently asking the town to waive a parking requirement of 67 parking spaces.]

[September 20 update: The Belmont Citizen-Herald indicates that the new restaurant from the DeMagistris brothers is one step closer to opening, as the town planning board has voted in favor of the place while also waiving the parking requirement. The post also says that the working name of the dining spot is "Roast 75" but that its actual name will be announced later.]

[January 3, 2018 update: A message and picture sent by Leah Klein of City Living Boston indicates that the new restaurant from the DeMagistris brothers will be called The Wellington, and that it could be opening this spring or summer.]
